Accessibility Declaration

The Gdańsk City Gallery is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its website in accordance with the provisions of the Act of April 4, 2019, on the Digital Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies. This accessibility statement applies to the website of the Gdańsk City Gallery: https://ggm.gda.pl

Date of website publication: 2015-09-01
Date of last significant update: 2024-03-16

Digital Accessibility Status

This website is partially compliant with the annex to the Act on Digital Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies dated April 4, 2019, due to the following [non-compliance and exclusions] listed below.

Inaccessible content

Non-compliance with the annex:

  • Lack of alternative text descriptions for images – on many subpages, images and graphics do not have an alt attribute, or contain default and uninformative descriptions (e.g., „image” or empty descriptions). Screen reader users do not receive information about the graphical content. If you need a description of a specific image, please contact us by email.
  • Incorrect header structure – on selected subpages, including the homepage, the H1 header is missing or there are lower-level headers (e.g., H3) that are not preceded by higher-level headers. This may make it difficult for people using assistive technology to understand the content structure.
  • Presence of empty links and buttons – there are links and buttons on the page (e.g., social media icons, elements in sliders) that do not have assigned text or alternative descriptions. Screen reader users do not have information about where these elements lead or their function.
  • Partially insufficient color contrast – in some areas of the website (e.g., main menu, footer headers), text is placed on backgrounds with too low contrast, making it difficult to read for people with impaired vision or sensitivity to light.
  • Incorrectly defined table structure – where tables are used, they may not contain properly marked column and row headers. This can cause difficulties for screen reader users when interpreting the data.

Content not covered by the regulations

  • The website may include documents and multimedia files published before September 23, 2018, that are not digitally accessible (e.g., scanned posters and promotional materials). According to Article 3 of the Act on Digital Accessibility, these materials are exempt from the adaptation requirement. If you need access to a specific document in an accessible version, please contact us.
