The exhibition “Günter Grass – the Gdańsk Collection” presents the biggest Polish collection of the Noble Prize laureate’s art works: graphics, drawings and sculptures, and at same time constitutes one of the biggest collections of his works in the world. The exposition includes several dozens of selected works representing various graphic techniques, as well as drawings and sculptures from various stages of the artist’s work. The exhibited works present Günter Grass as a great artist who uses various forms and techniques. The wide audience recognizes Grass as a writer mostly, but it is worth remembering that the comprehensive artistic work has always simultaneously accompanied his writing.
The exhibition is part of the Gdańsk events commemorating Günter Grass. On Tuesday, the 5th of May, a concert to commemorate the artist will take place in the St. John’s Centre, at 19.00. It will be followed by a march with drums to the Günter Grass Gallery in Gdańsk.
