During the vernissage, at 6 p.m. the artist will be awarded by the mayor of Gda\u0144sk on the occasion of 35 years of the artist’s creative work.

<\/p>

Marek \u201cRogulus\u201d Rogulski is an artist thanks to whom the worn-out clich\u00e9s \u2013 independent, free-thinking, spirited and honest to the bone \u2013 regain their original radiance. The artist creates situations, events and spaces by means of his fascinating visual and musical activities. His performances and actions have gathered many a faithful fan from all over Poland, whose number is continually increasing. After all, to participate in Rogulus\u2019 performance is a cathartic experience. This means that when one participates in it, one re-establishes one\u2019s link with reality \u2013 this reality which offers space for greatness and uniqueness of one\u2019s life in spite of the apathetic routine of mundanity. Moreover, the artist does not only offer us a singular experience but a long-lasting intellectual adventure. He is erudite and a theoretician, provoking lively discussion. He creates concepts and terms in order to make his specific language adequately express his amazing quest.

<\/p>

Valves and Limi_potrophes<\/i> is the title of the exhibition which Rogulus has been preparing especially for the Gda\u0144sk City Gallery during the last year. The viewer, depending on their mood and preferences, will be able to either engross in an intellectual game or sink into a hypnotic space. The best option will be when the viewer crosses the threshold of the impossible, activating their intellect, sensitivity and intuition \u2013 all at the same time. Anna Markowska, the curator of the exhibition, ensures us that the genesis of Rogulus\u2019 art lies in his fight for his own soul and its power. Therefore, the exhibition reveals the multiplicity of the artist\u2019s roles and incarnations, including the craziest ones, such as the aurucho-cow and the shaman-divine-virgin.
